The FVH-12/20 model is an industrial vacuum trap of the condenser type, operating in conjunction with forevacuum pumps with a capacity of up to 5 l/s. It is designed to protect pumping equipment and intensify the drying process in conditions where up to 1 liter of liquid is released from the sample per hour, and the total volume of evaporated liquid per cycle does not exceed 12 liters.
The main application is for laboratories with high sample humidity (>0.5 l/cycle) and technical processes with long pumping cycles. (Although oil-sealed rotary vane pumps have the ability to expel some moisture, in many cases this is insufficient and technologically challenging.)
Chamber material 08Kh18N10 (AISI 304) or a close equivalent. The FVH-12/20 model is not designed for use with acids and strong solvents. This equipment is for water vapor, oils, and neutral media. See models for aggressive media in a separate catalog.
Capacity 12 l: The maximum volume of condensate that can accumulate inside the trap before draining/defrosting is required. This volume is sufficient for industrial/large-scale laboratory tasks (e.g., drying batches of parts with hidden cavities).
Temperature -20°C (down to -30°C): At -20°C, the partial pressure of water vapor drops to less than 0.8 mmHg. This ensures that water does not enter the pump working chamber in a vapor state.
Performance 1 kg/h: The trap can condense up to 1 liter of water per hour. This is a high indicator, confirming the power of the refrigeration unit (1.2 kW) and the type of refrigerant R404A.
Ultimate vacuum 1x10⁻² mmHg: The equipment is designed for operation in the forevacuum region (initial pumping stage). The trap is compatible with pumps with a capacity of up to 5 l/s (standard for pumps like 2NVR-5DM and analogs).
Limitations: Supply of liquid phase to the inlet pipe of the trap is prohibited. The device condenses vapor inside the chamber — accumulation of condensate up to 12 l is normal operation.
Without a trap, oil replacement in a rotary vane pump is required every 40–60 operating hours during intensive moisture release. (Depending on the chemical composition of the pumped medium.)
Cost of oil and labor — from 15,000 ₽ (depending on volume).
FVH-12/20 holds up to 12 kg of water before draining.
12 kg of water equals 3 to 6 oil changes.
The trap pays for the service component in 2–3 intensive drying cycles. For productions with constant loading — payback period less than a year on consumables alone, without considering protection of the pump mechanical parts.
Maintenance is similar to any refrigeration equipment. The main requirements are not to forget to drain the condensate and to keep the plate condenser clean.
The detachable design allows mechanical cleaning of the internal cavity if the condensate contains suspensions or is prone to crystallization.
If the suspensions are resinous deposits, we recommend a special model for working with resins.
FVH-12/20 is the most productive trap in the line with a capacity of 12 liters.
For smaller loads, junior models on the same refrigeration unit are available:
| Model | Volume | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| FVH-2/20 | 2 l | Compact installations, occasional drying |
| FVH-3/20 | 3 l | Standard laboratory ovens (up to 50 l) |
| FVH-5/20 | 5 l | Serial processes, up to 0.8 kg/h moisture |
| FVH-12/20 | 12 l | Industrial batches, hidden cavities |
